Bohemians' final Dublin derby of the League of Ireland Premier Division season has been given a new October date. The fixture against Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium will now kick off at 8pm on Monday, 12 October.
This will be the fourth and final meeting between the sides this campaign. Bohemians won the first clash back in February, but Stephen Bradley's Hoops have taken the points in the two most recent encounters. The rescheduling comes after Shamrock Rovers' involvement in European qualifiers, which ended last Thursday with a Conference League play-off defeat to Finnish side KuPS.
Shamrock Rovers currently lead the Premier Division table, holding a five-point advantage. They also have a game in hand on both St Patrick's Athletic and Bohemians. Bohemians sit third, level on points with St Pat's but behind on goal difference. Alan Reynolds's side are in strong form, however, having won their last five league matches, including a 3-0 victory over Sligo Rovers last Friday. That run has seen them score 50 goals this season while conceding 34.
The shift of the derby to October is one of several recent reschedules for the champions. Another affected game was their home fixture against Shelbourne, originally set for late August, which will now be played this Friday in Tallaght. For Bohemians, the focus immediately turns to cup action before the derby arrives. Their next match is a Club Orange Men's FAI Cup quarter-final away to St Patrick's Athletic this Saturday. That match will be broadcast live on RTÉ 2 and the RTÉ Player from 3.45pm.
With the derby now set for October, Bohemians' run-in is taking clear shape. They remain firmly in the European qualification picture, just five points behind the leaders with games in hand to be played across the division. Their next league assignment is actually against Shamrock Rovers, scheduled for this coming Thursday, 4 September, at Tallaght Stadium. After that, attention swings to the cup and the potential for a semi-final place. The full list of remaining games is available on our fixtures page.
A spokesperson for the broadcasters said: "Watch two FAI Cup quarter-finals live on RTÉ 2 and RTÉ Player this weekend: St Patrick's Athletic v Bohemians from 3.45pm on Saturday and Derry City v Dundalk from 3.45pm on Sunday." The final league derby of the year between Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers will be played on Monday, 12 October 2026.
