Bohemians aim to reignite their Premier Division title push on Friday 30 October when they visit a St Patrick's Athletic side in poor form. The Dublin derby at Richmond Park offers a vital chance for the Gypsies to respond after a recent defeat to Shamrock Rovers.
Bohemians sit second in the table with 62 points from 34 games, just three points behind leaders Shamrock Rovers. Their recent form shows two wins, a draw and two losses, a sequence they will be eager to improve upon starting this week. The team's next fixture is a home clash with Shelbourne on 23 October, but focus is firmly on the trip to Inchicore.
Recent form
St Patrick's Athletic have lost their last two league matches, falling 2-1 at home to Shelbourne and 1-0 away to Derry City. They have won only one of their last five league outings, a run that has seen them slip to eighth in the table. Their recent struggles present an opportunity for a Bohemians side that beat Waterford 2-1 last time out. That victory featured goals from Sam Todd and Ryan Burke, but was preceded by a disappointing 2-1 loss to Shamrock Rovers and an FAI Cup exit to Waterford. Bohemians' away form has been solid, with just one defeat in their last five league matches on the road.
Head-to-head context
The recent history between these sides is evenly balanced. In their last four meetings across league and cup, each team has won twice. The most recent encounter was a 1-1 draw in the FAI Cup in early September, while Bohemians secured a 2-0 league win at Dalymount Park in June. St Pat's won the previous league meeting 3-1 at Richmond Park in April. Bohemians have not won a league match at Richmond Park since October 2022, a statistic they will be determined to change.
Top scorer J. Clarke, with eight goals this season, will be a key figure as the team looks to close the gap at the top. St Pat's manager Stephen O'Donnell is expected to make changes to his lineup in search of a response after two consecutive defeats. The full fixtures list shows a demanding run-in, making three points on Friday all the more important. The match kicks off at 19:45 local time.
