Bohemians face a tall order in Denmark as they refocus on the FAI Cup, but a strong performance could boost their season and qualify for the Uefa Conference League in 2027. The team is currently 3rd in the Premier Division, with 44 points from 27 games, and have a recent form of LDWWW. They are 10 points behind leaders Shamrock Rovers and three points behind second-place St Patrick's Athletic. The team has not been idle in the transfer market, with Paddy Madden returning home after 15 years in England for a potential FAI Cup run. Madden is seeking to finish his career at Bohs after 650 appearances and over 200 goals in the lower rungs of English football. "The conversations I've had with Paddy, I've been really impressed," said Alan Reynolds, the Bohemians manager. "He's coming home with the mindset that he still has something to prove, so we are really looking forward to getting him started." Madden said: "I am delighted to be back where it all began for me in professional football. Some of my best memories in football came here, winning the league [2009] and Setanta Cup [2010]." Bohemians will need an early goal in Denmark and, in reality, a complete collapse from Midtjylland to advance to a playoff against the winner from Croatia's HNK Rijeka and Finland's Ilves. "They brought on a fellah wide right [Chilean international Darío Osorio] that they're looking to sell for €15 or €20 million [to AC Milan or Arsenal]," said Reynolds after the first leg. "There's levels." Their last result was a 3-1 loss to Waterford on August 9, and they have lost their last three games.
