Bohemians FC has unveiled a new jersey inspired by the Irish-Cubian connection, in collaboration with the Bristol-based band Massive Attack. The jersey is a one-off design for the club's 2026 FAI Cup and will raise funds for medical aid to Cuba. Proceeds from the sale of the jersey will be donated to the Cuba Solidarity Campaign's Cuba Vive Medical Aid Appeal and mediCuba-Europe. The jersey pays homage to Cuban kits of the past and features a unique design that reflects the connection between Cuba and Ireland. The front of the jersey features the Massive Attack logo and stripes decorated with the words of a historic speech by former Cuban leader Che Guevara. The crest is in the Irish language, with opening lines from the band's song Teardrop stitched into the inside of the shirt's neck tape. The collar and cuffs are Bohs colours woven in black and red, and each sleeve carries three stitched stripes. An embroidered hem tag features Dublin artist Jim Fitzpatrick's iconic portrait of Che Guevara, accompanied by his signature. On the back of the shirt are the words of Guevara's father, 'In my son's veins flowed the blood of the Irish rebels'. The jersey is a unique and meaningful tribute to the Irish-Cuban connection and will raise vital funds for medical aid to Cuba. Bohemians FC is proud to collaborate with Massive Attack on this project and to support a fan-owned football club. The club's Chief Commercial Officer, Daniel Lambert, said, 'Massive Attack, through both their music and their activism, have inspired people across the world for generations. They consistently highlight and speak out about injustice, using their platform to bring about change and remaining unrelenting in their moral convictions.' The Irish people have a strong bond with the people of Cuba. The illegal blockade of the island has now run for over 60 years, it is worsening, and it is badly affecting the Cuban medical system. Bohemians FC is grateful to be able to work with Massive Attack to highlight this grave injustice and to raise funds to save lives on the island.
